NAMIBIA

WHERE TO STAY

Discover the ideal place to overnight.

Accommodation in Namibia ranges from simple guesthouses and rustic lodges to luxury properties, but good value options can be limited in the most popular areas. Places such as Sossusvlei, Etosha and other key safari regions often book up well in advance, especially where there are only a handful of affordable choices. If budget is a concern, it can work well to mix a few special lodge overnight stays with simpler accommodation in towns such as Windhoek or Swakopmund, where there is usually more choice and better value. In some cases, it also makes sense to spend just one night at a premium location, such as close to Sossusvlei, then add another night or two in the same wider region at a more remote, affordable property. This can keep the route practical while making the overall trip better balanced.

Budget

Budget options in Namibia are usually simple guesthouses, rustic lodges, self-catering stays and rest camps. Often these options are limited in the more popular destinations.

Mid-range

Mid-range lodges offer a good balance of comfort, location and price, making them a practical choice for many travellers. However, many are a little generic, so look out for the more unique ones.

Luxury

High-end lodges are not always simply about opulence but focus on their unique setting, service, guiding and exclusivity, often in remote or highly sought-after locations where the experience is all important.
